Thirteen Things I Hope to Accomplish This School Year

1. Get a 4.0. It’s a little late in the game, but I’d like to go out on top.

2. Read at least one book for pleasure per month.

3. Start a Bible study.

4. Organize and throw at least three dinner parties for friends.

5. Lose 15 lbs.

6. Enter a ballroom dancing competition.

7. Start and stick to a writing schedule.

8. Get a portfolio together and start submissions for publication.

9. Develop one new (good) habit each month.

10. Go on more roadtrips.

11. Plan New York trip (that’s news, huh?).

12. Become a self-proclaimed make-up artist (for myself…and friends if they choose to allow my experimentation on their faces).

13. Graduate.

Thirteen Things I Would Have In A Perfect World

1. A big house with a veranda.

2. One large orange cat.

3. Lots of puppies.

4. A bucket full of blackberries on the front porch.

5. Boarders. I want to open up my home to people.

6. A never-ending pitcher of lemonade.

7. Something cooking all the time.

8. A husband that I adore/that adores me and a pile of kiddos.

9. A stay-at-home job.

10. Farm animals (specifically a goat, a few cows, and some chickens).

11. A ministry of hospitality.

12. My own radio show live from the desk in my bedroom.

13. A bubble bath.

Last night while watching something on tv I saw some fictional children behave in a way I did not find appropriate. Mentally, I referred to my own future children as my “pups.” That’s right people. Pups. I think now I cannot deny that the word “country” in its adjective form does indeed apply to me.
