I meant to link to this post on Friday, but forgot. So, I’m not so stuck on the date anymore (hello, Bedlam), not even the year. Haha. But this is one of my most favorite posts that exhibits just how crazy I can be and it tends to draw attention from women who want to lecture me about how awful marriage can be (or something like that…it was hilarious. I’ll post the comments sometime). So, enjoy. And don’t worry, I’m past that now.

Thirteen scents that you might smell on me at any given time
    1. Philosophy Pure Grace – I bought this because it smells like my mother did when I was little.
    2. Philosophy Falling in Love – Only at night.
    3. Escada Magnetism – In the fall and winter.
    4. Forever Elizabeth by Elizabeth Taylor – Another fall/winter perfume.
    5. Philosophy Empowermint Body Wash – Minty and wonderful.
    6. Victoria’s Secret Love Spell – This is so fruity and nice. Absolutely one of my favorite scents.

    8. 3-year-old. You know what I’m saying.
    9. Dove Deep Moisture Facial Cleanser – So nice.
    10. John Frieda Dream Curls – This has an interesting, light scent. I use it a lot so most likely you’re getting a whiff.
    11. Coffee – I drink it a lot. It sticks to my clothes.
    12. Philosophy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream 3-in-1 – MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP!
    13. Lavender – I use a lot of things that are lavender scented. So chances are…

Can you believe it is only two months until Christmas? Me neither. But before Christmas comes the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of my birth. November 14th. With that said, I give you my wish list.

I also accept cash and Starbucks gift cards.

Dedication to your craft is admirable.

Thirteen things I have learned since I started working in childcare
    1. Changing diapers isn’t that bad.
    2. I envy the women that have the power to strike fear in the hearts of unobedient children.
    3. If you are under the age of four it is impossible to pronounce my name.
    4. Horsey rides make everyone happy.
    5. So does the Walky-Buggy (a tickle game my great-grandmother played with us).
    6. They are stinky and gross for a little while, but I still want to have seven of my own and form my own singing troupe.
    7. Having seven would be crazy. Five.
    8. Just nod your head and say, “Yeah?” or “Really?” if you don’t understand what they are saying.
    9. You should treat them like what they are…little people. They are going to grow up and be productive citizens. Treat them with respect.
    10. Encouraging creativity is very important.
    11. Singing a song will solve a lot of problems.
    12. Children are the funniest people you will ever meet.
    13. Naptime is a gift from God.

    Back from Branson!

Oct 16, 2006 Author: Elizabeth | Filed under: Daily, Photos, Weekend

Heather and I had a great time in Branson. On our way into town we ate at Lambert’s (Home of the Throw’d Roll), but we did not get the hog jowl. I tried to talk Heather into it, but she wouldn’t hear of it. I can’t say anything for the jowl, however, if ever you are south of Springfield, MO or at any of their other locations…stop at this place. It’s a ton of fun.

We got into town, braved the traffic, and made our way to the condo. The Falls. Great place. Our room was even nicer this time. Whirlpool tub, oh yeah. That night we saw the Haygoods. In my opinion it is the best show in Branson. Ahem.

Day Two was spent shopping and checking out the new Landing down by the lake. Great place. I saw it this summer and they are really making a lot of progress. Another thing to check out…not your typical Branson.

Sunday we drove home in rain almost the entire time. It was nice, but very sleepy weather. We stopped at “Ozark Village” to get Aaryn a gift and I will post a picture of that after it’s been delivered. Too funny.

That was my weekend! And tonight is ballroom dancing!

ME: So, just as a backup plan for next summer and next year, I’m thinking of applying to teach at The David School.
    AARYN: What’s that?
ME: A school in Kentucky for underpriveleged Appalachian children.
    AARYN: Okay, Christy.

    Thinking…

Oct 11, 2006 Author: Elizabeth | Filed under: Daily, Thinking

I have no idea what was going on with me this morning. I woke up around 7 o’clock and before I realized what had happened, I had vacuumed the entire house.
