To most people he was a foul-mouthed comic, but to me and my brothers, every afternoon George Carlin was Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station. I remember getting so excited hearing that theme come on TV. The show had something at its heart that meant a lot to me, and I think it was the make-believe aspect (much like Mr. Rogers). Is that anyone else’s biggest memory of him?

Awww! I forgot that show! I used to love watching it… I only remember Ringo Starr as Mr. Conductor, though (my dad taped an episode when I was a kid, so that’s all I’ve seen of it since it went off the air).
How sad. I’ll have to see if I can find a clip of Carlin in it.
Now the theme song’s stuck in my head, but in a good way. I miss the show. Our generation had awesome kid’s TV (I’m just guessing we’re in the same one if you remember this show).
Oh. This is sanil from GG.
