Thank you. I know that Obama supporters everywhere are rejoicing this morning as you represent them all in your actions. Thank you, for showing what you stand for. For showing what it is that you believe — that I, as a conservative and someone who holds a different opinion than you, matter less. That my beliefs are somehow less important than your own, that they hold less value. And thank you for letting me know that I have no right to express my opinion in my own front yard. It’s beautiful really. This sense of clarity that I have now.
I am sorry that I was under the impression that you and your candidate believed everyone has a right to their own opinion, and the right to express it. I am sorry that I thought that some of you might be willing to let me speak my mind instead of stepping in like communist comrade with your Red-laced boots and leaving your prints all over my expression of free speech.
I am sorry that the next time I see your ninny liberal hindquarters on my property I’m gonna have to lob off your ears with my hedge clippers. Dadgum commies.

As a liberal and Obama supporter, I am disappointed to see my fellow supporters acting this way. We ARE each entitled to our opinions, and choice to support whichever party. I hope that there are not many people out there that act this way, because this is how democrats get a bad rep.
Get me a NObama sign. I”ll sit on my front porch with my pellet gun and DARE anyone to take it down.
This is exactly why I won’t put a bumpersticker on my car. I live in CA, aka MostDemocraticStateEver. They would key my car and probably smash my window in if I ever did so.
I loved your sign though. I say you repair it and put it back up…maybe with a little note about respect and freedom.
Ugh.
going for the ears won’t teach them. i would shoot them in the foot. they’d have a hard time stomping on anything ever again.
@Samantha – Indeed. I hope the same, but I fear it’s not true. Kevin already had some of my neighbors yell at him from the street, referencing the sign.
@Cindy – My Daisy is at home, otherwise YOU BETTER BELIEVE I’d be planted out there on the front porch in one of my rockers, that gun lying across my lap.
@Renovated_girl – Brushed it off and stuck it right back up. It’s leaning kinda funny, but it’s okay. Thinking of getting more signs to stick in all my front windows, but that might be inviting the vandalism. But THAT, the fact that my opinion angers them this much, makes me laugh.
@lauren – Noted. Was thinking of aiming the shears elsewhere, but not sure there is anything to shear off.
Living in a heavily Democratic county we haven’t put up any McCain or NObama signs even though we really really REALLY want to. Add living out in the country….and we’re just asking someone to vandalize our property.
I feel like we’re being bullied.
That’s just not cool. I don’t even like guns and I’d join you on your porch to help you shoot.
I’m not certain which would be more painful — actually having one’s ears lopped off with shears or having them somehow “thrown slowly in an arc” in such a manner that they left one’s head…
Either way, people who do stuff to other people’s signs need to repeat kindergarten.
