Thinking

  • I hate calling tech support anywhere (but Cox and any sort of support with Dell or Best Buy are the worst) because half the time I know more than the person who is helping me. And I’m sure all the tech support people reading this are like, “Yeah, everybody thinks that…” but I DO.
  • I have a bizarre fear of the elastic string on birthday hats.
  • I have a stomach ache from the Advil I’ve taken today :(
  • I am tired of a diet that consists mainly of mashed potatoes and ice cream. Never thought I’d say that.
  • We surprised a coworker today with a desk covered in confetti stars, super long Slim Jims, M&M minis, a type of tea that she likes, green balloons, and hats with the names of different people/things that she is responsible for in the office.
  • “White Trash Wednesday” postponed. Coworker’s child got sick and she had to pick her up at lunch time. Rescheduling.
  • Friday Night Lights is *Kevin from The Office voice* AWESOME.

    Mmmmm… Ice Cream.

You’re not the only one who hates talking to tech support. I, too, know more than the person I end up talking to. But then, I do tech support for pretty much every friend and family member of mine on the planet. Which can be seriously inconvenient at times. But I can’t stand to talk to Dell–because they refuse to hire people in this country to talk to me. Seriously ticks me off.

While I don’t have an irrational fear of elastic string on birthday hats, I still hate it. Stings like a bee if you let it go and it slaps the underside of your chin. My irrational fear is pork. So I just tell people it’s a religious thing (even though it’s not) and let it go at that. Much easier to explain and I get fewer questions. :)

You and your coworkers are awesome to do stuff like that for other coworkers!

Keep thinking, ’cause your thoughts are illuminating!

I don’t like calling tech support places because the assume you haven’t tried everything you know to do, and proceed to walk you through each of those things.

Did you start watching Friday Night Lights? Really? or are you just being sarcastic and I can’t pick up on it?

    I love that show!
