I wonder if there will be a school of writers connected only by the Internet. Maybe there already is one like this. There are a number of people I read (not bloggers) that belong on their own pages, in their own books, on shelves around the world. I feel a kinship with them that I experienced with very few of my peers in college. Many of them needed to donate their pencils as kindling for the homecoming bonfire.
Hemingway used to sit with other writers and artists around café tables in Paris. Where will our next writers come from? Coffee shops on college campuses? Benches outside of English classrooms? Or will groups of people communing over these wires be the next to enthrall a generation of bibliophiles?
I’d like to know what you think, and also see links to rising (or should-be rising) literary stars you enjoy, if they have a web presence.
