Wedding planning truths, continued…

2. You will be exhausted. Grab what sleep you can, when you can. It is a valuable commodity right now and you’ll thank me later if you decide staying well-rested is going to be a priority for you during your engagement.
I’ve decided that I will commit to writing at least one blog post per day until the wedding. That’s right, you just witnessed me losing my mind.

BUT YES. It is 80 days until our wedding. Unbelievable.
Eighty days after we started dating was just a few days after Kevin’s 26th birthday. Now he’s 28.
In this countdown, I think I’m going to try to bring you some truths about wedding planning and today I am going to be breaking a blogging rule (telling you what I had for lunch) to get to this truth.
Today, I had string cheese and a Wasa cracker for lunch. One thing you should know when you start to plan a wedding…
1. You will likely become malnourished. Work to keep yourself healthy during this special time. Eat several small meals throughout the day and skip the caffeine and sugar as much as possible.
If we were going to have dancing at our reception, I’d be up for this being our fun first dance.
I’ve been such a bad blogger lately, I feel like I owe you all something. And I’d like to give you something that you’d enjoy, you know, like this:
But I’m not a fairy tale prince transformed into a beast because of my icy cold heart and I don’t have those kinds of things at my disposal. How about some Arby’s instead? It’s a coupon for a free Roast Burger that is good until Saturday!
It’s been a while. This planning a wedding thing takes up a lot of a girl’s time. On the up side, only 2 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day until our wedding!
Lately, all I have been doing is pushing through my to-do list of DIY things for the wedding. Right now we’re (me and yes, the prospective groom, Kevin) working on getting the invitations cut out and assembled. I designed them myself, printed them on handmade seaside papers, and now we’re trimming them up and attaching them to some sturdy “eggplant” colored cardstock. The invitations should be going on the first week of April.
Next on the list of things to do is to stamp out the “wish jars” on some cardstock. Guests will be asked to leave their wishes, hopes, and advice for us “in” the jars at the reception. I’m really looking forward to what you all will have to say!
Also, I have to find a guestbook I’m happy with. At this point I am thinking about just going to Hobby Lobby and buying the one that matches the flower girl baskets and ring pillow. I was going to go for a more creative idea, but now I’m kinda…eh. Whatev. Let’s get this show on the road.
Here’s a short list of things that I have left to do. I assure you I am forgetting some of them.
Whew. I’ll be back later today with some links for you to enjoy after your Sunday afternoon nap. Off to church!
—————
Have a nice nap? Good. I gardened.
(If you don’t watch LOST, you might want to skip this. It will mean nothing. Except that you’re missing out on everything.)
I think we have. I have been holding on to this screenshot for some time (this past summer) and meant to post it sooner. Might not have any sort of meaning anymore, though I think it was an early attempt for them to clue us in that Charlotte had indeed spent some time on the island in her life.

It appeared in one of the Dharma tests that was offered over the hiatus in 2008. I don’t recall the name of the test at this time, but it was the one that asked questions related to images the viewer was shown.
What do you think? Little Charlotte Staples Lewis? I’m inclined to think so.
I think when Elaine first meets Mr. Peterman he’s really dashing. It might be the umbrella.

I have some weird kind of satisfaction out of working on my Wikipedia userpage. I am a fan of labels. Still need to add what my basic interests are around Wikipedia. Mainly they include correcting spelling mistakes and inaccurate statements made about Oklahoma and my hometown.
It bothers me that they refer to BTK as the “BTK killer.” How does that make any sense? He’s the BTKer. Bind Torture Killer. Not the Bind Torture Kill Killer. I think that just sounds stupid.
Also, there are things that I get worked up about that have little to no effect on…anything.
There is a squirrel carrying a large chunk of something across the powerlines outside. Ever since hearing about the squirrel catching fire and starting a huge fire in Oklahoma, I’m a little paranoid of that happening. By the way, isn’t that hilarious/sad?
I love to watch my dog doing yoga in the morning. Yes, she does that. A pilates instructor once told me to pay attention to babies because they do yoga all the time. It’s natural for us to move our bodies in that way. Well, where do you think Down Dog came from?
Today I was featured in Bossy’s Virtual Peek. That means there are scads of first time visitors roaming around my blog today. Gah! If my blog were my house I would be rushing about right now, picking up laundry, trying not to break dishes as I cram them into the cabinets, kicking magazines underneath the couch, smoothing out my skirt and checking my hair one last time before I greet my guests at the door.

Or maybe I’ll just stick with my normal “after regular business hours” attire–yoga pants and a sweatshirt I’ve had since my sophomore year at OU.
I must say, you picked a pretty great day to visit, because I posted one of the funnest videos I’ve made last night (which brings my total to…4). Go. Watch. Delight. Wonder along with me how I ever managed to escape those four large front teeth that insisted on being the stars of the show in 1992.
And if you’d like to know a little more about where you’ve landed, I’ve provided a few links to memorable posts. And a few links to posts featuring memorable links. Thanks for stopping by! (For all my faithful readers *cough*Mom*cough*, here’s a little look back for you

Thirteen Things About My Weight Loss Journey
A little video I put together for our wedding site. Enjoy!
I almost apologize (or do I go ahead and do it?) every time I take a break here. Maybe it would be different if they were planned absences. But I watch my StatCounter hover around the same number every day, no matter if I’m posting or not, and I feel bad for not providing you all with something to read. For that, I apologize. For the rest, well, let me give you a run down of what’s been going on.
One week (the week and a half before Valentine’s Day) I had the flu, the next week I had an unbearable amount of stressful drama, and this past week, I broke. Without sharing too many details (the truth is that I don’t mind sharing with about 99.77365% of you, but there is one person I am in contact with on a day-to-day basis that I don’t want to share most of this with…maybe I’ll make a password protected post in the future) I will tell you that last week a coworker had to rush me to an urgent med center because I had gone numb in my hands and face, was faint, and had difficulty breathing. I had rushes of warmth all over my face and I sat alone at my desk at work thinking I was dying. As a last effort (I thought) to save my life (or possibly just NOT die at the front desk), I called my boss and everything after that is pretty blurry. I was taken to the urgent med center and they immediately checked the level of oxygen in my blood. They handed me forms to fill out (seriously? I cannot believe that they did this. The girl at the front desk clearly did not realize the severity of the situation. And I told her that). I couldn’t remember my phone number, work address, or my parents’ area code.
The whole reason I was so concerned was because I had started birth control about 3 weeks before and the things that I was experiencing were all things that it said to seek a physician’s care for immediately because of the risk of a blood clot. I was freaking out because I thought it was a stroke or a heart attack. I have never been so frightened in my life. They ran an EKG and did some chest x-rays to make sure that it wasn’t a blood clot (because it was a possibility) and there weren’t any problems there.
Again, I’m not going to say exactly what it was. I’m pretty sure most people can figure it out. If you can’t, email me. I’ll talk to you about it. The reason I’m being so cryptic is because there are people that I don’t want advice from. They aren’t qualified to give it. I am working on getting things under control, relaxing, and focusing on what I can do today and not the piles of things that have to be finished in the next 96 days.
I am okay, my life is good, and things are getting better. Thank you for your concern.
