OR…I Need To Be Held. NOW.
Stop reading if you haven’t seen this episode. This post is riddled with spoilers.
- One of the final scenes of this episode reminded me a lot of one of the final scenes from a favorite film of mine, Jeux d’enfants. If you don’t want a spoiler for the episode or the movie, don’t watch the following video. However, if you do watch it, tell me what you think. (The part I’m referring to is toward the end of this video.)
- Bernard seems to know automatically why Jack has come to visit him. I would like to know how everyone gets clued in that it’s something so much bigger, but I doubt we’ll know this.
- I find it interesting that in the alt-timeline people are making these connections and understanding things so quickly. They all had these deep connections from the beginning and spent a long time together on the island…completely unaware.
- Lapidus – dead? Not dead?
- I wonder where Ben and Richard are.
- Jin and Sun. *sob* Last episode I didn’t even care about them getting back together. But tonight…you just can’t forget how far they have come, the sacrifices they have made for each other, and how long they have waited to see each other again. Never, ever giving up. Such a tragic end.
- Please, Kevin, if we are ever in a sinking sub and I am pinned and you can’t save me and we have a 3-year-old child that you have never seen — SAVE YOURSELF. I give you permission.
- What is Fake Locke going to do now? Go kill Desmond?
- I think Jack and his crew really understand the stakes now. Their numbers are down and this man is out to get every single one of them.
Oh, LOST. I will miss you when you’re gone.

I think that the people in the alt-timeline are having connections and understanding because of what happened on the island, like they’re connected to their alternate self. I think they’re going to have to bring it together by the end. Correction: I *hope* they’re going to tie it together at the end or I will be very disappointed.
I am pretty sure that Locke thinks that Sayid killed Des, so that may buy the group some time.
I, too, wonder where Miles, Richard and Ben ran off to. Hopefully they catch up with the surviving group to increase their numbers against Locke.
My mind is in chaos, basically. I think next episode will explain more about why Smokey is in the island, or at least the good vs. evil stuff going on.
I was very sad after that episode… it reminds me of Harper’s Island, a murder mystery show. It got down to just a few main characters left and the show just has to end soon after that because it’s so depressing.
oh man i bawled like a baby when i watched this episode wednesday night. i felt like such a traitor for thinking sayid had turned to the dark side only to have him sacrifice himself for everyone AND give jack the clue he needs to defeat that thing ™ in locke’s body.
as for the alt timeline: i think they all feel that something is off, kind of like when jack talked about knowing that he still had something to do on the island. they just know but don’t get it fully, yet. and i think somehow they “remember” the other timeline. for example, the way that sun totally flipped when they were wheeling her into the hospital and she saw locke. it was like she was terrified. then there’s locke’s sleep-speech to jack about how he should have believed him. somehow they know on some level about the “real” timeline. i think.
and sun and jin. oh man. that killed me. it was just brutal and heart wrenching. we have been on such a journey with them over the years and i for one have totally fallen in love with them. i sobbed. SOBBBED.
i think lapidus might turn up like a deus ex machina or something. the fact that nothing was mentioned about him dying makes me think he’ll pop up at some opportune moment. plus he’s just too cool to kill off with no mention or fanfare.
i think des is going to make it, at least long enough to do whatever needs to be done, whatever that thing ™ is afraid he will do. i hope. i love des more and more every episode.
i just hope that sawyer sucks it up and realizes that they’ve got to stop that thing ™ and stop being so stubborn and selfish. kate will go along with it cuz she’s such a lame-o, and hurley is all about doing what’s right.
i find it so interesting/ironic that now that jack actually (FINALLY) believes that locke was right, he’s still fighting “locke” in the form of that thing ™.
