Listening Lately

A few songs in rotation around here recently…

The Band Perry…I enjoy your music despite the fact that one of the boys has a haircut that he clearly stole from Melissa Etheridge. The lyrics in this one are nice.

This is one of my favorite covers that I’ve heard Tori Amos perform. Her rendition of the song has been floating around for a while, but this performance was from a month ago. Lovely.

An older one from The Civil Wars and maybe my favorite. I don’t have a choice, but I still choose you. I just love their voices.

Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars the other night at the Ryman Auditorium. Sooo pretty.

And lastly, Ryan Adams singing “Elizabeth, You Were Born to Play That Part”. Who doesn’t love a song with their name in it? This one is special.

The whole Hunger Games soundtrack thing made me look into The Civil Wars…good, good stuff! I loved Poison & Wine when I first listened the other night.

You have to LOVE a song with your name in it – even if they sing it to you all the time.
