Friday’s Feast #5

Friday’s Feast is down today due to technical difficulties, but a nice fellow by the name of Gabriel provided some questions for regular posters to use. So, here goes!

What would be your most treasured memory of your childhood? I have a lot of treasured memories, but the one that just popped into my head was going crawdad fishing with my brothers, one of my cousins, and Granny. Granny would get some raw bacon and we’d tie it to a piece of string, which was tied to the end of a stick. We’d head down the road to a place near a pond where some water had collected after a good rain and there we would stand, probably not any longer than an hour because I remember my brothers’ attention spans at that age. We did catch a few, but I don’t remember what we did with them. I know we didn’t eat them. Not that I would have had a problem with that.
Soup
When was the last time you just ‘bit your tongue’? I bite my tongue every time I’m with my family. At least once. But most of the time I don’t bite my tongue.
Salad
Name that silly fact about you that was unknown…until now. I really enjoy listening to Tom Jones.
Main Course
You’re a superhero, but with ‘non typical’ superpowers. What would your super powers be, and what would you like to be called? Superfast ability to read and comprehend, the ability to speak and understand all languages, and umm…how about YOU suggest a name for me?
Dessert
World Cup final, Olympic Games, Superbowl, World Series, NBA finals, Stanley Cup… which one would you like to play in? Duh, the Winter Olympic Games where I would be the better looking half of a pairs skating couple.

What is your favorite kind of cereal? Golden Crisp — NOT Smacks. But I don’t eat it very often because it’s not the best for you.
    Soup
When was the last time you purchased something for your home, what was it, and in which room did it go? Hmm…that’s difficult. I can’t think of any large, decorative items at the moment, so I’ll go with my candle warmer. And it moves around as I see fit.
    Salad
What is the funniest commercial you’ve ever seen? I like Sonic commercials. I need to be on Sonic commercials. I am very funny and I live in Oklahoma, the location of the headquarters. Please, Sonic, call me!
    Main Course
Make up a name for a company by using a spice and an animal (example: Cinnamon Monkey). Basil Bats. I really like that.
    Dessert
Fill in the blank: I haven’t ______ since ______. I haven’t seen Kevin since Monday. Boring, I know, but it’s important to me and it’s the first thing I thought of.

How many times per day do you usually laugh? Ten, easy.
    Soup
What do your sunglasses look like? They are big and gaudy. I like them that way.
    Salad
You win a free trip to anywhere on your continent, but you have to travel by train. Where do you go? New England in the fall.
    Main Course
Name one thing you consider a great quality about living in your town/city. It’s got a small town quality without being painfully small. We have most of the shops you could need pretty close by. I love Norman :)
    Dessert
If the sky could be another color, what color do you think would look best? Purple? I don’t know. I’m fine with the standard blue.

What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called? Michelle. I’m pretty happy with my names, but I’m excited to know that someday my last name won’t be “Johnson”.
    Soup
If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most? Drab browns and greys and black. And it would rain all the time. Oh, wait. I’m just a fashion designer, not a diety?
    Salad
What is your least favorite chore, and why? Washing the dishes and laundry are tied. Both are just tedious to me.
    Main Course
What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life? The thought of losing my mother (I will not go into what caused that) and being in the passenger seat of a car and getting hit on that side by an oncoming vehicle. It happened once and I still tense up whenever I’m in the passenger seat and someone makes a left-hand turn.
    Dessert
Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment. My couch. Strange Business by Rilla Askew, a photo of Kevin and me, and my army green Keds deck shoes.

What was your first “real” job? My first real job didn’t happen until about a year ago. Dad never let me work in high school and I was much to busy with stuff when I started college. It wasn’t until my last full year of coursework that I started working. And that work, as you know, was at a day care.
    Soup
Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity? Driving home to Pernell sparks more creativity in me than anything else that I’ve found. It’s amazing. It kinda washes over as I drive down the interstate and through the tiny towns on the highway that leads to my home. Plus, the grayer the sky is, the better.
    Salad
Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when… I receive unwanted attention.
    Main Course
What values did your parents instill in you? All the values that I have. I think that’s a really weird question and one that’s too complicated to answer, especially when you grew up with and still have a lot of “values.” My parents raised me to be a good, honest, caring, and kind person. They taught me about the love of Christ.
    Dessert
Name 3 fads from your teenage years. Goodness. I wasn’t much of a fad follower. Umm…glitter jeans. Tamagotchi. Boy bands? Could those be considered a fad? Because my 14th year was NOTHING but boy bands. Back when they got really popular again.
